Weekend in Atlanta

This past weekend Mark, Anthony and I traveled to Atlanta, GA for a fun weekend. Anthony had the opportunity to spend the weekend with my sister, Kristen (known as Kri Kri to her nephews). They went to the Atlanta Aquarium and Zoo, ate at Willy's, colored, and watched movies. I think Kri Kri might be pooped! Anthony was SO ready for bed this evening. All he has been able to talk about in the past week was getting to "live" with HIS Kri Kri for TWO WHOLE DAYS. And, of course, on the ride home today all he could talk about was their weekend together. He described in detail the sharks and animals they saw, he talked about his food at Willy's, and how they watched ALL of Wall-E. I'm so glad they both had this time together, and I hope they can do it again.

Mark and I were in Atlanta to attend the wedding of Mark's college roommate, Chris. The wedding was beautiful (so was the bride!), and we really had a great time. We made new friends, danced, laughed and enjoyed an adult weekend.

We went to the dinner gathering the night before the wedding.

Mark was in the wedding. He looked GREAT in his tuxedo.

Dear Blog,

I am so sorry I have neglected you. You see, my life is boring right now. Sleep, wake up, eat, school, eat, play trains, ride bike, bathe, sleep...lather, rinse, repeat.

We were in Georgia this past weekend. Lunch with Kri Kri and then the weekend at Uncle Matt's to help him move into his new house. Not much to say there...except: how CUTE are they?

Now, please allow me to brag a little bit (this IS my blog, after all). Anthony did not have a single accident this past weekend! Friday: A car ride to the New Orleans airport, a plane trip to Atlanta, a 2 hour car ride to Uncle Matt's...dry. Saturday and Sunday we pretty much hung out at Uncle Matt's house, so I didn't expect any accidents there! But on Monday, we took a loooong car ride home, and Anthony stayed dry the entire time! We did, of course, take four breaks for potty time.

I am just so proud of Anthony, and amazed at how easy potty training really was...once he was READY.

Like I said, life has been quiet around here, and I'm glad for that!

Mark's birthday is Sunday (he'll be THIRTY!), and we will probably go to my great-uncle's house for a Palm Sunday gathering. We'll have breakfast with the Easter Bunny at Anthony's school on Saturday morning, and a trip to the zoo if it doesn't rain.

Pictures soon...

Birthday!! Cake!!

Those two words have been the highlight of Anthony's weekend. Aunt Kri Kri (my sister) had a birthday on Friday, and we celebrated last night at my parents' house. From the moment he woke up yesterday morning, he's been singing "Happy Birthday" and asking when he was going to get cake. As soon as dinner was over last night, he said, "Now let's have some cake!" As soon as he got his piece, he went straight for the chocolate icing, and ate primarily around the edges of his piece so that he only got the chocolate icing and a little cake. Guess what his favorite "sweet" is???

Anthony now is asking, "When is MY birthday?" and "Is it MY birthday today?". I think he just wants the chocolate cake.

We had a great afternoon today. We played with some chalk outside on the driveway, Mark pushed Anthony on his swing, we played kickball in the front. Anthony should be good and worn out by bedtime! We also put together a new Elmo and Ernie puzzle, and played Memory and Anthony was SO GOOD at it. We played with about five pairs, and with a little guidance, he was able to remember where the cards were, and find the pairs!

We had a great weekend!

Easter Pictures

Here are some pictures from our Easter weekend! Anthony got to spend some great quality time with KiKi (my sister who lives in Georgia) and Uncle Matt (Mark's brother who also lives in GA). We haven't seen either sibling for a few months, so it was fun to watch Anthony drag them all over the place and enjoy being with them.

On Saturday, Anthony helped Grandpa wash Nana's car.

Then on Saturday evening, Anthony got to dye eggs with Parrain and Uncle Matt. It was a very messy experience. Grandpa had to scrub the counter afterward, even with all of the newspaper that was laid down.

Sunday was spent between both families. A family reunion in Madisonville on the Tchefuncte river Sunday morning/early afternoon...KiKi and Anthony walked by the water a lot. KiKi taught Anthony to say "Be careful!" when near the water, and that he should always hold someone's hand when he's walking by the water.

And then back to Nana and Grandpa's to knock eggs and see what the Easter Bunny brought to their house. Anthony got a bubble blower and a Magna-Doodle.

Guessing what Uncle Matt is drawing on the Magna-Doodle...his cows were terrible, but his shapes were VERY good. :)

The weekend was a great one, but it was hard to get back into the swing of things on Monday. I've got this week and next of school and then a week of finals. I'm so glad that this semester is almost over! I'll have a month off from school before heading right back in to my clinical program. I got word the other day that I have officially been accepted into the Medical Technology program, so I have to go shopping for scrubs and gear up for tougher classes!

Tomorrow I'll take Anthony to his surgeon to take another look at the infection on his scar. I'm not sure it IS still infected, but I want the surgeon to make that call. I'll post with news on what's going on there sometime tomorrow.

Love to you all!

Love, Laurie, Mark and Anthony

Coming up in Anthony-land:
Thursday: surgeon
Friday: probably back to day care
Saturday: chillin'
Sunday: crawfish boil!
