Who, Me?

Tonight was the awards ceremony before my graduation (which is on Friday). Mainly, it was a ceremony where the graduates receive their pins that have the college insignia and the degree program on it. I assumed that was all the recognition I was to receive. Little did I know that I have tied with another student in my group for the highest overall grade point average of the clinical laboratory science students! I was pretty excited to receive that award! Never in my wildest dreams did I think I would have the highest GPA. And if you had told me a few years ago that I could achieve "Academic Excellence", I'd have probably laughed at you.

But guess who wasn't surprised? My parents, my husband and my in-laws. They've had the faith in me to complete this degree, even when I didn't have the faith in myself. If it weren't for those five amazing people, I don't think I could have made it this far. I owe a lot of my success to their faithfulness and confidence in me. Their love and support have helped me gain confidence in myself. I know, now, that I can do anything I set my mind to.

That's fun! Congrats!

(Did mom ever tell you she graduated first in her class and dad in the top 10?!?!?!?! If not I'm sure they'll tell you the stories AGAIN!) :o)
