Early Halloween Pics!

Mimi came over tonight, and we carved pumpkins! Usually, we choose patterns from the millions of books I have. This year, Mimi decided to do something different, and free-handed hers. I have to say, it turned out AWESOME. I, of course, am not creative in the least and had to stick to a pattern. Whee.

Anthony does not love sticking his hand in a pumpkin ("I don't like to get it MUSHY, Mommy!") and so we had a different way for him to do his pumpkin. My friend, Jennifer, bought a box of eyes, noses, and mouths that you use to decorate a pumpkin with. He loved this, and decided to decorate three sides of his pumpkin.

I'll have more pics of the kids in their costumes after Friday! Anthony's cousin, Haileigh, is coming to Trick or Treat on Friday with Anthony, too! I have Silly String and glow sticks for the kids - I'm sure they'll have lots of fun.

Enjoy the pictures!

Both pumpkins; can you guess which is which?

To Infinity...and Beyond!

Well, Anthony chose his Halloween costume tonight. He has decided that his heart's desire is to be Buzz Lightyear. He can't quite say, "To infinity...and beyond!" Instead, he says, "To infin-did-eee...and be-dond!"

He enjoyed going to Nana's after buying his costume to show it off. And he told me, "I think Maw Maw would really like to see me wear this costume the next time she sees me." I'm absolutely certain he's right.

Pretty darned cute Buzz Lightyear, huh?

Quickie

Life is very boring here lately. My strep was knocked out by the antibiotics, but I have hung on to a nasty cough for two weeks. Anthony's got one, too, so we sound like a pair of frogs or something when we cough. And, of course, when Mommy coughs, Anthony coughs.

We're going shopping for Anthony's Halloween costume tonight. He claims he wants to be a pumpkin, but when faced with all of the choices he'll have, I wonder if he'll change his mind.

A tech at the hospital has been letting me practice phlebotomy on him, and I've managed to stick him quite a few times without missing. Yesterday was the first time I missed, and it was because he had me use a butterfly needle and stick him in his hand. IN. HIS. HAND. I was a little nervous, considering all the bones that are in the hand, but I got him on the second try, and it wasn't that difficult. Not something I want to try on the average Joe Blow, but this tech is a really great teacher, and doesn't make me nervous.

And that's it. That's my news. Boring, eh?
