Santa! and the St. George Fire Department

Every year, the St. George Fire Department drives through the neighborhoods they protect and brings Santa on one of their trucks. This year, TWO trucks came through and we were outside waiting.

The first truck came slowly down the street with its sirens blaring. As soon as he saw the boys, the driver honked the horn and Ben was instantly in my arms. I think he must have jumped 12 feet in the air! That didn't stop him from waving and yelling "HI!", though!

Santa was on the second truck and he threw some candy to the boys. I can't imagine a better thing for Benjamin: Santa AND fire trucks. His idea of heaven might have been complete today. :)

After Santa's truck came the Baton Rouge Food Bank's truck. They collect non-perishable food items and new toys for the less fortunate. They also threw the boys some candy.

After it was all over and we were back in the house having lunch, Anthony said, "I don't think that was the real Santa." So we talked about how the real Santa is really busy right now, and so he sometimes asks other men to dress up like him to help him out. How many more years will Anthony believe, I wonder?
