Celebratin'

Today was the first real day of Kindergarten for Anthony. He had so much to tell me when he got into the car at carpool. Especially all about discipline, and how he's never going to have to "pull a strip" (meaning: get a warning and then have to put a strip of paper next to his name). He insisted that his teacher come to the car to let me know that he had gotten a sticker for good behavior today but that it had fallen off of his hand. He knows the routine: no stamp/sticker, no smiley face on his behavior calendar at home. I can't imagine he'd want to start the school year off on the wrong foot!

Non-stop talk, lately, has been about Anthony's birthday party. Who he wants to invite, what gifts he wants, what theme he wants, what kind of cake he wants...

His birthday isn't for over three months, but that hasn't deterred him at all. I was a little surprised, though, when I asked him what he wanted the theme of the party to be about. I expected dinosaurs...I mean, who wouldn't expect Anthony to want a dino themed party? That is all. he. can. talk. about.

So when he said, "I want a Magic Treehouse party", I was shocked. Then he said, "Because I love those books and the FIRST one is Dinosaurs Before Dark!" Annnnnd...THERE it is. The dino reference.

And so, of course, he will have a Magic Treehouse party, and we'll center the theme around dinosaurs.

Anyone know where I can get a cheap load of sand and some fake dinosaur bones? Or a pterodactyl that would be willing to give the kids a ride? :o)
