Anthony and Amanda

We had a good time at the reunion today. Anthony got to run and play with other children who had transplants (and the siblings of the transplant kiddos, too). We did some crafts, listened to a speech by Anthony's transplant surgeon, and took a picture of Anthony and nurse Amanda.

While Anthony and Mark took a nap this afternoon, I visited with a family whose son, Trey, had a liver transplant yesterday, compliments of his Aunt Christa. It was very emotional to see Trey connected to all of the tubes and wires, and remembering Anthony looking like that, too. Mom Jackie got to hold Trey for the first time post-transplant today, and it was so wonderful. Please keep this family in your prayers for a smooth recovery for both Trey and his Aunt Christa.

We'll be on our way home tomorrow morning, and I'm glad for it! While we've had a good time just the three of us, it's time to be home again. We haven't seen Nana and Grandpa in a looooong time, and Anthony's been asking for them and Maw Maw and Paw Paw with increasing regularity. He's also asked for Mimi and Mike (hint, hint, Mimi).

Here's the picture of Anthony and nurse Amanda:

That's actually a pretty good picture (thank goodness I spent all that time making sure my hair looked good!)! It will be fun to see a comparison photo if you have one from when Anthony was a baby. It was great seeing you and I hope you had a good flight back home. I'll keep reading as long as you keep blogging...

Sorry we missed out on the Reunion this year, hopefully next year! Sounds like you had a good time. I hope Anthony's ear infection is better.

It was great to meet you Laurie and your visit really gave us a HUGE moral boost when we needed it the most. Thank you.
