Creature of Habit
For as long as I can remember, I have sung Anthony to sleep. Well, not to sleep, but I sing the same three songs every night before I kiss him goodnight. After I sing, we pray,
Now I lay me down to sleep;
I pray thee, Lord, my soul to keep.
May angels guide me through the night,
And wake me with the morning light.
After that prayer, we run through the list of people to bless: grandparents, great-grandparents, and aunts and uncles along with Anthony, Mommy and Daddy "and all of our family and friends".
Just recently, Anthony has started chiming in on the list of people to bless. He likes to keep me on my toes by never saying the names in the same order. And then we come to my favorite part of his recitation. Instead of "and all of our family and friends", he says, "and all of our friendly family". So thanks, to all of you, who are part of our friendly family. You're blessed by Anthony.
