Cry Me a River
Or don't. This entire week, Anthony has smiled and said "Bye, Mama" when I drop him off at school. It sure beats the crying mess I have been leaving since, oh, early last year. I'm so glad that he's finally adjusting to the separation.
School has been pretty rough lately. My classes are harder this semester, especially Genetics and Immunology. Between those two classes, I can spend all of my free time studying. I don't, but I could. I've done fairly well on my tests so far, and will hopefully be able to keep up my DEAN'S LIST record! Yes, I made the Dean's List last semester. First time I've EVER seen that!!
Life here is still pretty boring. The girl who lit a fire in Chemistry lab last week has been removed from the class, and most likely will be expelled from the school. It was a really weird event, and it frightened most of us who witnessed it. Hopefully the only fires in Chem lab from here out will be on the Bunsen burners.
Mardi Gras is next Tuesday! We're hoping that the weather will be good enough for us to enjoy the Spanish Town parade on Saturday. The theme this year is "FEMA-ture Evacuation" and I can't wait to see it. Each year the Spanish Town crewe picks some politically incorrect theme, and it's always pretty funny.
We'll probably go to Thibodaux on Sunday for a parade and to visit Mark's grandmother. Then we'll be off to Houma on Tuesday for another parade there. We'll skip New Orleans this year, I think. Anthony is still a little young to head there with him. Maybe next year (and maybe Randy, Stacy, Tanner and Morgan will be able to join us!) we'll go for Endymion.
Speaking of Tanner , his one-year liver transplant anniversary (thanks to his lovely grandmother) is on Mardi Gras day. The family will celebrate Saturday with a Mardi Gras themed party. I'm anxious to see the pictures! If you have a minute, head over to their website and tell them congratulations!
That's all that's going on here. Be assured (ha) that I'll have plenty of pictures from Mardi Gras to share!
Love, Laurie, Mark and Anthony
Coming up in Anthony-land:
Friday: speech therapy and lunch with Paw Paw. Then Maw Maw, Paw Paw and Maw Maw Peck are coming over for dinner!
Saturday: a day to clean at home (if the weather's bad) or a day at the parades (if the weather's good)
Sunday: to Thibodaux
Monday: day care since Mommy will need the time to study
Tuesday: a parade in Houma!
Wednesday and beyond: stay tuned!

Good news all around. But I think I need some pictures.
